New Feature: Anonymous comments for Public projects

Comments

MockFlow is continuously updated with new features and improvements although this blog does not cover all of it. Today's MockFlow update enhances the feedback system for mockup projects by allowing 'Anonymous' comments for wireframes with public urls.

Feedback is a vital piece of any wireframing process, from now on anyone can review and write comments on public projects, no MockFlow account or any authentication is required for that matter.  Try it now for projects listed at:http://www.mockflow.com/samples

Another improvement in this update is that now image names in the asset manager are editable.

MockFlow's public wireframes can now be viewed in iPad [Pre-Release]

Mockflow_ipad

We have been doing a lot of HTML5 / Javascript stuff for MockFlow lately for a number of reasons.  As already available for premium users, Wireframe projects created with MockFlow can be previewed or downloaded in offline HTML format.

Today's update is our first step for MockFlow's mobile compatibility including Tablets and SmartPhones.    Wireframe projects with a public URL like those available at http://www.mockflow.com/samples now automatically convert to HTML5 for viewing in non-flash devices like the iPad.   So imagine now reviewers can open mockup urls sent by designers without requiring any special plugin.

Any public mockup can also be forced to be viewed in html5 by appending '&html=yes' to their url. Try this one.

Note: This is a pre-release version, a full release is rolling out soon including a native iPad application for MockFlow. Keep Watching!!!

Introducing 'Labels', your Wireframe organizer

Labels

For the past few weeks, MockFlow was regularly updated with a number of new features such as 'HTML5 rendering of Wireframes' and 'Project Templates' although this blog did not cover those releases in writing. However we decided to blog today's update as it provides one of the most asked functionality.  Earlier MockFlow displayed mockups in two standard lists which are projects owned by you and shared with you.  As this list grows, it becomes painful for organizing and navigating projects .  This problem is now solved with the just introduced 'Labels' feature.

As seen in the screenshot, 'Labels' helps to organize your projects into multiple groups.  In addition to the built-in labels provided in the application, users can create custom labels to arrange mockup projects based on context, progress, your clients, department or anything for that matter.  A mockup project whether owned by you or shared with you can be simply dragged and assigned to multiple labels.  Now organizing your user interface projects got simple, easier and social.

Note: The 'What's new' section in the dashboard has been removed, From now on for any MockFlow news and updates, follow our twitter account http://twitter.com/mockflowapp

MockFlow update: Advanced action-based Sharing Permissions

Untitled-2

A recent update to the MockFlow web and desktop clients has introduced a new feature called "Action-based sharing permissions". As shown in the picture above, this brings granular settings for sharing.  The permissions for each collaborator of a mockup whether reviewer/co-editor can be configured based on a set of actions.  The following action based sharing permissions are now available:

  • Can Comment
  • Can Chat
  • Can Export
  • Can View log
  • Can View other Members
  • Can Upload Image
  • Can Delete Image
  • Can Preview Revision
  • Can Delete Revision
  • Can Add Page
  • Can Delete Page
  • Can Change SiteMap
  • Can Export Data
This feature will be helpful to mockup owners and administrators to allow/restrict collaboration permissions based on user.

Other notable updates include performance improvements in editor, Project duplication works now as intended and the increased stage size (4000x4000) pixels.

Introducing Filter Effects for Export: Grayscale, Sketch, Negative, Old Paper Just like in Camera...

Filtereffects

Today's update provides enhancements to the export functionality of MockFlow, as we understand that export options form a vital part of any Wireframing process.

 1) Re-designed export dialog:  The dialog UI now looks slick with rest of the app.  An 'Instant Preview' function has been provided to preview the output even before exporting the mockup.
 2) Filter Effects:   A new feature that works just like in camera. You can apply different filters to your mockup to produce different results that serves a certain purpose.

The following filters are now available and we hope to deliver more soon :
  • Sketch:   Turns your mockup design into Sketch style. Great for informal presentations that reproduces sketching on a whiteboard.
  • GrayScale:  Converts your mockup into Black&White mode. This is quite useful for printing purposes.
  • Old Paper:  Add some style to your mockup by providing a vintage old paper look to impress your clients. Handy for differentiating old drafts.
  • Negative: Inverts the mockup colors with High contrast. Useful for accessibility.
See a short demo below on how to apply filters:
